buy a programmer or not

well just got my 2010 2500 CTD and curiuos if I would be better off to pull the exhaust off and buy a programmer before I start having issues. any suggestions?

I'd do it if I had a new Truck.. I have heard that 6.7 CTD's are evil with out the restricting factory exhaust.. I only hope someone makes a programmer for 2010 models?
