diesel trans dont have solenoid a and b they have solenoid made for direct shifts ex. 3 - 4 shift solenoid
i would start diagnosing why its voltage is low. i would look into a wiring diagram and see if they are related somehow.
i will do it for you but i wont be able to get back to you till later tonight

ok i would get under the truck and check out the 8 way connector that the 48RE transmission has.
Its gonna be the transmission solenoid assembly
Cavity 6 is your DARK GREEN/TAN WIRE for your 3 - 4 shift solenoid control
Cavity 7 is your YELLOW/LIGHT BLUE for your torque convertor clutch solenoid control
Follow the wires as far as you can because if anything its gonna be a short to ground. It wont be open because that would lead to a 5 volt or 12 volt reading
Im not completely positive that this is an electrical issue, unless it just happened 1 day with hardly any noticable symptoms.
You dont have any blown fuses do you?
If all the wiring to that 8 way round connector appears good, I would say its time to drop the pan.
