Default Uphill RPM

We just got an 02 RAM3500 5.9L diesel, pulling a 10,000# toyhauler, what kind of rpm can this engine handle on a long uphill pull? I don't like running my equip. hard. Have always had Ford PSD.

Thanks Jerry

Welcome to the forum.

The 5.9 will run 2600 -2800 all day long. You probably won't need to run that high to pull a hill with 10K behind you, but you can none the less. You'll find the best towing RPM is about 2000 give or take. Enjoy the your new ride.
