Default Tires for Ram 2500 with Cummins Diesel

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with Cummins Diesel engine. It's time to replace my tires. I currently have factory installed Michelin LTX A/S. Tire guy has recommended I replace them with Michelin LTX MS-2's which have a 70,000 mile warranty. They are also slightly more money. The LTX A/S's do not have a mileage warranty.

When I look at Michelin's web site it appears the difference is that the original LTX A/S's have a third steel belt compared to the two steel belts on the MS-2's. Both are 10 ply tires. The tire guy claims the extra steel belt adds stability for towing purposes. I do tow a 28 ft. Airstream with a special anti-sway towing package.

Not sure what to do? Any advice would be appreciated.

John

Default Tires

I like Michelin tires. I think you can't go wrong either way. I don't think much of the mileage warranties. Hard to prove you rotated them on time, alignment, etc...
