Stock Megacab 2500 4x4 auto VS. Exact same in the Quadcab. 5.9l of course.Should both rigs be expected to get around 16-17 mpg?

Bare bones, no mods..yes 16-17. Keep in mind all those mods that are not go fast ones (spray in bedliner, nerf bars, tool boxes with crap in them) will eventually compromise you..until you buy a programer. Good luck and welcome.

Ok so here is a strong search I have been looking at.After many email and pics back and forth this is what has been responded to me.Main question for the site"diesel a$$ kickers"I know its only one pic of the motor but can you tell anything by that shot"pic 17"?Mods?Should I ask for a different angle?I live 550miles from there so this is why we have been working back and fourth so much.Long drive to bring the hemi mega cab back home"and expensive".Here is the qwik breakdown on what the last email has been. Not certified but told local trade from a doctor who traded in for a fully loaded power wagon.
Here are the details for the breakdown on the truck. We are working a few different banks at the moment and don’t have one finalized yet. Please call or email me if you have any further questions.

I dunno, I paid $31,500 plus tax/licensing for my 08 QC Laramie with 45k, 33k for an 06 Mega sounds a little steep. It's a nice truck though.

The reasons I went with the 08 instead:
1) exhaust brake
2) much improved automatic

That's about it. The exhaust brake is awesome if you tow heavy loads at all - and shoot, it's nice even empty for slowing down on offramps and whatnot.

That does seem steep for that truck.

I, 8 weeks ago, bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 CTD MegaCab Laramie (same truck as that), in Canada for $29,500. When I was in Eugene, the lithia dealer offered to buy it off me for $34,000. Apparently there's pent up demand for the 5.9s from people that 'know better.'.. lol.

Maybe I got a good deal, which is possible. Mine also had less miles on it when I bought it. 83,000kms.

As far as the engine goes, it's always a crap shoot. I personally got the extended warranty for that reason. That's worth the extra cash (provided your dealer doesn't try to screw you on it, see my other post). The engines are tough, but one idiot with a programmer will easily destroy that, or the transmission.

Well after really thinking about this and hearing some people saying it was priced kinda high and i agree,I have decided to pass. With $1000 down + fuel to drive over and then getting hit with taxes in washington state at 9.6% for licensing it would be pretty pricy so I will continue to wait as I have been for about 6months already. It will come and it will be local"C'mon guys trade in them junk 5.9's and buy the best fuel eco 6.7 guys"

Alright... fair warning to everyone out there... 4 days after this post my heart tried to put me 6ft under due to a rare genetic malfunction. I'm just reading through all my older posts to see what discussions I was in.

I'm back home from the hospital and recovering, looks like it was a close call though.

Careful what you post!
