Cool Royal Purpule

I'm looking to get a better oil and tranns fluid in my truck. Does anybody out there run royal purple? is a good choice or is there something else thats better? I'm changing my oil just about twice a month due to high stress and high miles. Cost of fluid is not a problem just want the best for the tranns and engine

I have it everywhere... motor, trans, trans case, diffs & soon the power steering on the next servicing. I have had no problems with it and find I am not having to add any between the 10k oci's the truck is on.

what stress & how many miles/month?

I have a lot of upgrades to the truck. I push it hard on the weekends here and there. But during the week i baby it but i drive about 1500k a week. 99% of it is on the high ways and some back roads. Have you notice its cools the tranny down at all? how long do you go in between oil changes with it?

I wouldnt expect to see any change in tranny temps. I have my fluid to fluid cooler bypassed (failed on me causing a rebuild) and the most I see is 175* in the pan (double deep mag).

OCI's are at 10k along with a new fuel filter. I just switched to a dual flow oil filter that has a 5 mic bypass element (iirc) and a 5 mic drop in fuel filter. I do have a BK-11 bypass kit installed which brings the filtering down to 2mic however I dont like running the oil past 10k so I stick with the 10k oci. Probably overkill but motors are allot more $ than an oil change.
