Default in need of much help or any info!

2007.5 6.7L cummins

Any help is must needed. ok so truck F-ed up and now its sitting in driveway NOT RUNNING!....it started to have a rough idle (like it has a oversized cam) and no power at all. its has white smoke mixed in with the black smoke. the next day try to start and it takes three or four turnovers then finally cranks but its idleing below normal idle. it then acts up like its starving for fuel, but its smokeing more then normal. now the truck wont even crank. well long story short, use gas ona rag to crank it (maybe its air-locked) and it slowly starts up and then kills its self and blowns tons of WHITE EXHAUST SMOKE BACK OUT OF TURBO!!!(intake side, so no confusion hear) major problem here. well heads off, head gasket is seperated with burn marks and oil is were its not supose to be...like in the cylinders...but any help is needed thanks -Rob

Welcome to the site. White smoke is coolant and black smoke is oil. THe rings may not be sealing and allowing oil to get into the cylinder and burn. I will move this thread to the Cummins section as Coal Train is very good with these vehicles,

it almost sounds like something went haywire with the emmissions crap, like a stuck open egr or a pluged dpf, and failed vgt turbo, or even the throttle valve could be stuck closed, any of these things could result in very high cylinder temps or pressures and compirmise the head gasket

im betting on the turbo, cuz egr and its cooler are sitting on the side of the casa, truck is complete straight pipe (until inspection time haha), and removed valve from intake...but is there any way i could test the turbo to make sure its good or bad?

Default what kind of programmer?

I'm guessing some sort of programmer to run the deletes? Depending on the programmer(s) or plug-in modules used that could be the cause of the blown head gasket. The 6.7's seem to have some sensitive head gaskets when adding timing especially if stacking performance parts (programmer with a plug-in module). Many guys have added head studs and external waste gates to keep the head gaskets in place.

ok, hadn't heard of any (that I can remember) head gasket problems just running stock. Certainly doesn't mean it can't happen, though. Are you the original owner? I guess check the head & block to make sure they're still flat. I'd probably go ahead and do head studs, especially if you're thinking of adding power later on.
There is a LOT of info on the cummins over on cumminsforum.com.
