Angry starting issues

Ok well we all know the 2nd Gen 24V starter contacts suck. So I rebuilt the starter the other day using the rebuild kit from Geno's Garage. Truck has an Optima Red Top and some generic 1000CA battery from Advance Auto Parts.

So put the starter back in the truck after the rebuild, starts up, drive it bout 10 miles home. Go to start it about 3 hrs later, won't start. Bang on the starter and it starts up finally. Drive it about an hr or so, park it, go to leave a few hrs later(about 3-4 hrs later), and truck wont start again. Put it on the battery charger, leave it all night, come back to it in the morning and it fires up. Shut it off, try to start it and guess what....won't f'in start.

Now it's been on the charger for about 6 hrs, and still won't start. I've tried changing the batteries with other ones that I know are good and still get the same thing. Anyone else had this problem before? Maybe the starter is just plain garbage???

Any ideas that you guys/gals can think of???

Never had this issue on a dodge truck but seen it a few times on various farm tractors. Check your cables and contacts. I've seen corroded cables cause an issue like this. If your cables/clamps are all corroded replace em.

ok well a little more info...grabbed a test light and checked the connections for power. I got power on the solenoid side EXCEPT when turn the key to START. No power on the other side of the solenoid(solenoid to starter motor wire).

Shouldnt the battery cable going to the solenoid always have power?
