I have a 2004 cummins a few months ago it started knocking really loud so i shut it off and checked the oil it just barely touching the dip stick which is crazy cause i just got the oil changed about a month before that and the oil pressure gauge was showing normal. i did not drive it after that had it towed where it sits today. I heard in the 04s that the turbo goes bad and sucks the engine oil out the exguast is this true? and if my engine is bad whats the best option? to rebuild or buy a new engine? any advice?

 

the turbo can send oil out the exhaust or into the intake is the seals/bearings are bad, but thats very rare, if you just had the oil changed, you should have taken it to them and told them to fix it, they may not have filled it correctly or put the wrong oil in it and probably their fault
