Help!!! i need your knowledge
i have a 1990 dodge with cummins--- it's steering was horribly sloppy so i took it to the shop. they replaced the drag link, and a thingy that lives at the bottom of my steering linkage (?). then the steering was binding when i drove home. starting to turn, stopping, and then with more force turning. so i took it back. they reinstalled the thingy, told me they fixed the problem, but they dont know what was wrong. coming home today, the same thing. binding or hanging up on the steering. i really don't want to waste any more cash at that shop, but they are the only place in town. what did they do wrong?
they did replace the drag link. the steering thing they replaced is at the end of my steering shaft, but before the steering box. i guess it connects the two. looks like it's not lined up right, but they keep telling me that it can't go in any other way.
Steering wheel connects to the steering shaft connects to the steering box
Output of the steering box connects to the pitman arm, connects to the drag link, connects to the steering arm, connects to the knuckle.
Just so we're on the same page...
Can you take a picture of it? Are you all stock? No lift?
I had an 86 W250 for quite a few years, it should be the same.

Replacing the steering shaft with a borgeson one was one of the best mods I did on my w250.
If it's binding up though, the only thing that really comes to mind is overtightening the adjustment on the steering box, since those wear over time and you'll get a bit of steering slop from that. Too tight and it binds up and won't return to center on its own.
