Dodge changing fuel filter to larger unit on 6.7 CTD?
I had my 2008 CTD into dealer for oil change/service today. They said they were now replacing the fuel filter & housing with a larger unit due to biodiesel mixtures. There's a significant expense in replacing the housing! This is the first I've heard of this. Anyone else been told this by their dealer and is it necessary?

They were discussing this issue on cumminsownerz.com. Someone said the dealer told him he needed an upgraded filter and housing for $110.00.
The way I read it...... it seems Cummins changed from a 7 micron to 5 micron filter. The difference between the 7 micron filter and 5 micro filter requires a different housing and cartridge. No one said when the change occurred or why.... but I do know when it comes to common rail fuel systems, the cleaner the fuel, the better.

FYI........
