2005 Dodge Diesel, 64,000 miles. Never off road or in high water. Two weeks ago the U-joints went out, then we found that the whole rear drive shaft was warped. While checking out the truck the Dealer found that all the front ball-joints were going bad. I had that checked out elsewhere and it was true. Sadly, and expensively, the ball joints are not warranted and naturally, there is no way to grease any of these parts. I can't help but wonder how crummy the parts must be on a heavy duty truck when they crap out with so very few miles. If the Dealer does the b-joints, the charge is somewhere around 1,300.00. Can you imagine what the hell the total cost would be for the U-Joints, driveshaft and b-joints??? Used to love my truck and looked forward to many years with it. Now, the marriage may be tainted.
