I had an '06 5.9l and loved it! 33.5" tires, edge w/ attitude, Exhaust, everything.... I bought the 2010 4x4 Laramie Crew cab.... and as its my work truck I only wanted to do the cosmetics; wheels, tires, nerf bars etc. However, on the 06 I was able to remove the turbo silencer ring; found out by getting to it that the 2010 has the damn thing mold onto the turbo. Not allowing me to remove it. Furthermore, I use to get roughly 21-22mpg on the Highway. I understand that diesels take awhile to break in: 30-50k however, Im only getting at best 17.3mpg. I panicked, and thought I may have 4:10s... nope. What y'all think?

the milage is normal, the only way to really up it, is to get a programmer and turn off and remove the emmissions crap, if you are in an area to do so, the silencer ring can still be removed but its a real PITA, 3 dowl pins hold, 2 you can drill out fairly easy the third you cant get too with the turbo mounted, but if you are brave enough, a well placed pry bar will coax it out of there
