Default Dual battery replacement

Posting this on my father in law's account at his request for his truck (he's out camping with no internet access). Pretty sure it's a 2004 year.

He has the dual battery setup, and one of them went bad. He replaced it but it's not exactly the same specs as the other battery (it's a little better). The owners manual says that they should be the same, but how true is this in practice?

Thanks!
Jake

it wont hurt anything, but if the other battery decides to die, it can take the new one out too, its always a good idea to replace both batteries at the same time in a dual battery system
