Hello dodgeforumers!!
This is a cool place, good job with the forums! I'm the proud new owner of a 2000 ram 2500 4x4 single cab long bed truck. It's got the 5.9 cummins with the 5 spd manual tranny in it. There's a slight gear grind when I shift it into 3rd gear( which is really used as 2nd when not towing anything). I've already checked the clutch fluid and am thinking about bleeding it... If that has no effect shall I presume the problem to be synchros? If so, is this something that a mechanically inclined guy like myself can handle or should I take it to the pros to have the work done? Does this constitute a tranny rebuild? Thanks guys!
if none of the other gears are having issues, then its more than likely the syncros, not that bad of a job, if you are going to be in it, a complete kit is always a good idea, at least do all the syncros, if not bearings too
