Do diesels with this many miles experience any problems when adding something like this?

What's the best brand module or programmer to get for this truck?
I have an '03 2500 HD with a 6 speed. I've done the fuel mileage calculations and it would take me over 2 years to break even with fuel savings, to equate the cost of a programmer. It's not worth it. Horsepower is fun, but the you need to install some serious modifications to make it safe for your truck. Burning clutches and blowing transmissions and injectors just doesn't sound like much fun to me.

305 HP and 550 foot pounds of torque is plenty of fun for me. Not sure, but I think yours has about 450 foot pounds of torque.

So finally got a chance to give a good look underneath the hood of my truck just to check things out and noticed a plugged hole in the exhast manifold, im thinking its there because the owner before had an EGT sensor most likely for the programmer, right?

How can I telll if the injectors are different from stock? The truck does have an aftermarket Airdog fuel pump.

Wish i knew the guy that owned it before me so I could ask what was done to the truck!

The hole in the exhaust manifold was for a EGT probe. You wouldn't be able to know if the previous owner had a programmer or chip on the truck or just a probe. Same with the injectors, unless you take one out and search for the serial number.
