Sounds like you are heading down the right road.. I'm having a challenge with my '06 CTD as to who will live longer.

Do you want a long bed or short bed? If you're running a 5th or Gooseneck, then a long bed would be a bit easier. I thought I wanted a mega cab until I realized it was essentially the same length as a quad cab long bed - read: PITA for daily driving & parking.

Nice looking trucks.Does the blue one have velcro on the fuse box?It might have had a tuner in it,might want to look at that one a little harder,JMO.Also looks like the wire on the air cleaner tube is pulled out of the holder.Might have had a CAI on it and put back to stock to trade,or maybe just pulled out,or forgot to be put back in .Just a couple things to raise a flag in my head.Again,JMO.Nice looks rigs though.

had both, 2003 had 60000, when it was totaled, no injector problems. had 2004.5, 120000 miles, no injector problems. one thing to look out for is the 47re trans, very poor trans. the only other weak link in these trucks are the ball joints. but they are the best trucks out there.

Both of these are stick so that should be a non issue. Anyone know what the difference between a 3500 non dually is and a 2500?? And also is there a company that sells a full automatic tranny upgrade that can handle the power/towing with out headaches?

You're probably looking at a HUGE bill to swap to an automatic transmission. You'd likely be better off buying an automatic, pull the transmission, and have it rebuilt and beefed up.

Thats what i meant, if i buy an auto truck whats one of the better transmissions out there. Just want to figure out weather i want to consider buying an auto or scratch it off completely.

I love my Mega, sooo much room. Short bed is the only box but not an issue for me.
The QC is full ton and the Mega is 3/4 ton. I didnt get to see the differences between the 2 besides the obvious. If you are gonna have people riding along like kids then the mega makes sense (more comfortable), if your soloing then the mega works if you sleep in the cab (an inflatable double mattress fits perfectly). Other than that the QC has the extra capacity.
