Default Starting Frustration

Have Ram 3500 with 5.9 Diesel. Have been having starting problems since November 2010. Machine starts after most times after 10 seconds of cranking. Sometimes 20 secs and somedays won't start at all. Then try later and fires. ??? Have had towed to dealerships and had injector back flushes, fuel analyses done eg. filters, pressures, glow plugs and so on. Anyone have any idea what going on. Have spent about $2500 on this problem.

How are your batt. Are they old or fully charged? Cause i know with my truck it used to take awhile to start also. Checked out everything. Everything was good. Then looked at batt.s and they were old and the they wouldnt hold a charge. Changed the batts annd now it starts up first crank eveytime. Just check you batts with a volt meter and check both. Cause one could be good and the other bad and prevent from starting

This is NOT HOW YOU CHECK BATTERIES. You need to check capacity. Capacity is measured in AMPS. You will need to have the batteries checked with a battery load tester. Many places, like Autozone, will do this check for free. Make sure the super smart auto store worker disconnects both batteries from ALL cables before testing.
