Default Tranny question pls help

Dear Folks,

I live in the other side of the world specifically Mongolia and I used to run tours on Toyota LCruisers but I am thinking of converting into Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings. Obviously the roads are pretty bad through out Mongolia as soon as you out of major cities the road turns into dirt tracks so I have chosen Dodge Ram Diesel since it has solid axle good for off road, diesel since it's economical and reliable also I am looking one with manual transmition. So my question is dear experts since I woun't be able to find many parts for the truck here in Mongolia I am thinking of canibalizing one of old 1998-2001 Cummings 2500 some where in LA and use the manual tranny, front and rear axle's. I am thinking of buying 2003-2005 Cumings 2500 do you think the axle's and transmition will be the same between 1995-2002 RAM 2500 with 2003-2005 Rams?

Your help with be vital dear friends,

Chinzo,

Absolutely not for the axles.

The <2002 will have Dana axles whereas the >2003 will have AAM axles.

The trans you may luck out with a nv4500 in either, nv5600 possible in the high output ones.

Thank you guys,

I looked around for 2500 short bed 4x4 with stick but seemed to me there aren't many around so what are the chances on converting automatic into stick for 2004 RAM with 1998 stripped Rams manual trany clutch pedals etc? Will 1998 trany will fit on 2003 model?

Thank you folks
