Default Diesel exhaust smell in the cabin

Hi All:

I just bought a new 2011 Ram 2500 with a Cummins. It now has 800 miles on it and I really like it so far, but I have a question for the experts, since this is my first diesel.

On occasion, I smell a slight scent of exhaust coming through the cabin vents when I come to a stop. It is not strong but clearly noticeable. When I lift the hood, it seems to be coming from the turbo side of the motor. A few minutes more of driving and the exhaust smell seems to be gone.

I have read you can get this smell during the a regen cycle, but it would seem strange to me that diesel smell should be entering the cabin at anytime, but maybe I am wrong.

Can someone please give me some guidance before I go back to the dealer?

thanks in advance

My new 2500 does same. It does not happen if I am freeway driving and past the regen cycle. But it's enough to generate a bad taste in my mouth for hours after!!!

Come on Dodge do something about this!!
