I have a 98 24 valve 4x4 with a 155.000 on it and it leaking oil out of the Transfercase and drive shaft area I think its just the bearing?
So my question is the transfercase has 5 or 6 bolts that hold on the round housing can I take that off and push out the seal?
Sorry I have no idea what its called but maybe you guys have done this job before.
I think this might be called a Front Output Flange??

Thanks

Is the oil coming out where the driveshaft goes into the transfer case?

If so, I have been through 5 seals in the past year. When they replaced the 3rd seal they found a small burr that was cutting the seal and allowing oil to leak out. The repair shop that I was using was putting in aftermarket seals, I would suggest one from the dealer.

Now, if it is leaking out from around the gasket in front of the extension housing, then you just need a gasket.

Others will chime in.
