I just got my truck back from the transmission shop had to replace a band and I had a booster and some other things replaced, but before my temp on the transmission was about 120 all day it was a little colder out but now after the work and summer is hear its 180 driving down the freeway and sitting at a trafic it will creep up to 190 I dont know if it would keep going but thats the high so far!

Well, I have a temp gauge on my too. I am out in California. During the winter driving around town I could barely get the temp to 110 120, and Hwy driving the temp never moved off of 100. Now that summer is here the temp on the hwy is about 120 to 130 and driving around town I am seeing temps as high as 170 to 180. I think your most likely ok. The only other thing I could suggest is try cleaning your tranny cooler by sparying down the coils with a water gun on your hose. That will clean off the bugs and dust so you can get the most air flow without obstrutions. I was told by a personal friend who is a big tranny repair guy and owns his own shop, not to worry about tranny temps in the 170's to 190's. no big deal. He said the only time you really need to keep an eye on temps is when your towing heavy loads! hope that helps a tiny bit.

190 is fine, but start sweating if it creeps up north of 220-240.
