those of yall with the shakes and vibrations at highway speeds, get the dealership to re-ballance the driveshafts. this is common and an easy fix.

if you get alot of heat about they need to try this and try that, take the truck to a drive line specialty shop and get them to take a look, they have equipment that will ballance that thing better than wheel ballancers.

with the 05's the plastic end caps bug me, thank goodness I got an 04.5 and another issue I have is the dual mass flywheel that is used with the G-65 manual tranny. it is designed to reduce shock loading on the gears. . .thats telling me the tranny cant hold up under the full power of the engine. . .and again, thank goodness I got an 04.5 with the NV5600

Well it wasn't the drive shaft or u-joints that was causing my vibration issue. It was the Yoke! So after having it in 5 different times they finally resolved the issue. Has anyone had problems with their 05's windows. My driver sides makes a knocking sound on the way down. They replaced the motor, now the passenger side intermittently is doing the same. Other than that I love the truck, it tows like a son- of- a- beeeyach! [:-]

yeay my door seals are show the wear too but to be specific its the outer upper seal that really doesnt do much except for wind. other than the slight ripped area, no problem.
As far as the plastic intercoolers, yeah the first half of the 05's got em including mine. well its still going even after 9000lbs of truck barreling up 8% grades with the performance box letting her hit and stay at 40 lbs of boost. its like a vegas crap roll for me. especially when i hear people popping them at stock levels. I guess i got a good one. I'll be replacing it in a few months though for peace of mind. dumb accountants.

Not sure if a problem or the norm, but my 2005, 2500 with 180 miles just started showing an oil pressure issue. At NOT while above 1000 RPM, oil pressure reads 40+. At idle (750 RPM) Oil pressure drops to 10-15. Owner manual states 10 and above normal pressure at NOT while at idle.

Was this a constant vibration or an oscillating vigration?

ORIGINAL: canmaninusa

Yes I bought a brand new 2005 Quad Cab 2500 Cummins. Between 65 and 80mph there's a noticable vibration in the rear end somewhere. Took it in and they said the drive shaft angle was off so they shimmed it up...NO CHANGE....its headed back in on Monday. According to the Service receptionist this has been an issue in the past, currently no fix! For 30K plus you can bet I want it fixed!!!! Does anyone else out there have this problem?
