Exclamation 98 12v ats tranny overheating

I have a 98 ram 2500 12v and I just did a rebuild on the aftermarket ATS transmissions. It seems to run great but after driving 15 to 20 minutes it begins to overheat(had it go up to almost 250degrees). The strange things that have been done to it were only that the valve had some springs turned around and extra ball bearings put in. I dont know for sure if this is common or not. Dont know if there is any other common causes of this after rebuilds that people have ran into but I also never flushed the tranny cooler system. Anything to track this problem down would be much appreciated. thank you.
