Default Idle Lingers in Neutral 5.9 24v

I use this forum to help find answers when it comes to working on my truck and have had much success. Thank you!!
I have a 2005 Dodge 2500 5.9 24v. I adjusted the valves today. Truck runs great. The problem I am having now is, that when in park I rev the engine and it ramps up smooth, will hold the rpm smooth with no miss, but when I let up off the throttle it does not return to idle promptly. It wants to linger and decrease idle in stages. You can almost hear kinda of what I would describe as the valves/injectors fluttering as it is idling down.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!

**I have 100k on the truck...scared it is my injector pump

Welcome to DF
If you didn't have that problem before the valve adjustment, You could have a valve just a bit too tight? But if it was doing the same thing before the adjustment, then is maybe normal.
