Default Banks torque converter question

I have had some high transmission temps, runs ok on hwy 140-190 city 190-220 and today going up a dirt rd up the side of the mountain 280 in 1/4 mile., It is driving me crazy SO my question if I pull the transmission and install a BANKS torque converter will this help my temps?

Also how big of a differance is it from the 48re torque converter to the Banks??

There's a pretty big difference in stall speed between stock and aftermarket, which does make a difference in temps. I personally would not recommend Banks; they're overpriced for what they are. I would give Dave Georend a call. Also it sounds like your tc is staying unlocked while towing. I'm not sure if the 3rd gens are smart enough to throw a code for it, but a lock up switch might not be a bad idea. I'd ask Dave about it when you call him he'll know for sure. There may be a tuning option that can cure that too.
