Default 02 ram fuel pump question

I have an 02 2500 diesel and I'm confused on the wiring to on the fuel/lift pump. First according to the 02 service manual they show the pump behind the fuel filter. On my truck it isn't there. In the service manual it states the "in tank" pump is not used in the 02 Dodge ram. So where is it????????
I do know that there are 4 wires coming out of the non-existent in tank fuel pump and I traced them up to the major connector bundle just below the driver side steering column and anchored to the firewall. After that it runs into a larger bundle of wires and goes into the distribution panel but I can't find the 4 wires. I'm actually looking for a male/female two pin connector but can't find it. Anyone have any idea where to look?????

I would say it is in the tank if you have a 4 wire connector. 2 are for the gauge and 2 for the pump motor.

Your 02 has the lift pump from hell that will starve the injector pump and end up in dead stick failure coming for you soon.

Go to your nearest Bosch dealer (ignore Dodge help) they can supply a updated lift pump that will not starve the injector pump.

Your stock injector pump may have already began to slobber and is at 80% of it's intended performance, that can be corrected with a rebuild from Bosch.

I got my new pump delivered today. It's an Airdog FP-100 in-line pump with diesel filter and water filter. About all I had time for was checking the contents and reading install manual but it looks pretty complete. I particularly like the quick disconnects that came with it. It's a frame mounted unit and the install manual is pretty well written. About the only thing I dread is dropping the tank and pulling the old pump out.
What's interesting is they designed the the thing so that all the air bubbles are removed before it ever gets to the vp44.
