leaf vs. coil
with the newer trucks having changed to coil rear springs, which setup, leaf or coil has the greatest carrying capacity. my '07 has leaf, and i had the overload leaf changed to four leaf progressive and i carry weight just fine, just curious about coil and what kind of overload setup they have, i have put bags on also and would imagine that the same could/would be done with coils.
i see you have a roadrunner, i had a '69 with the 383 in '69, they had the hemi then, did you install the 440 yourself, those were fun days, '65 thru '72, lots of power, but i swear my truck is just as fast as some of the cars i had in those days.
Yessir, I do have a Roadrunner. It's a project; completely disassembled and blasted. I got it in numerous boxes and a near-mint driveable 68 Satellite at the same time. Two years later I got the 70 Challenger, and started a resto on it. Then the Satellite started looking pretty rough, but rust free. So the Satellite has displaced both of them and is currently on the rotisserie. After the Satellite is back up and running and looking new, I think the Roadrunner will go on for a paintjob. Then the Challenger will go on and be blasted since it had way more rust damage than I originally thought it did.
But to answer your question, yes I will install the 440. The original 383 and 727 that came with the car are race-prepped; 13:1 compression and a full build on the trans and a (I believe) manual valvebody. The trans will likely go behind the 440 with a different valvebody, but the 383 sits in the corner waiting for either a street-friendly build or a race project.

i had a '66 hardtop in '67, had the 318 torqueflite, black leather buckets, probably one of the nicest looking cars in that era, the only one i liked better was the '66-'67 chevy two, 350 hp 327, racecar off the showroom floor.

I miss my 69 that was an original 383 4-speed bench seat with a/c. It was a Coupe I guess. Had the flip out rear windows, not roll down.
It had a 67 440 in it when I got it and I added a mechanical secondary 6bbl set-up that I traded a OEM vacuum secondary set-up for. Back in 89, I bought the intake, 3 carbs, linkage and air cleaner for $400!! Ran perfect. I also added a 6bbl hood. I was young and dumb and sold the car and have regretted it every since.
Sorry, got off topic

those filp out rears were cool, save weight and give a shelby touch, i loved that six-pac hood. i had the rubber air cleaner with the cold air ducts on the '69 hood, when i ordered the car i went wild with add-ons, the whole package came to just over $4400.00 and my special interest at that time, tunes, so guess what was high on my add-on list, drum roll please, a factory eight track player, i still have the free tape that gave you a play by play on how to run your dodge roadrunner, beep-beep.
Very nice lxman! Last pic almost looks like mine, except it was gold (same as the Satellite). Same wheels as in your last pic, and they are staying on! And I'm also going with a 6 bbl hood.
