unless your runnning a HIGH hp engine, 5inch exhaust on the 5.9L Cummins is almost pointless. the only thing your gunna see is a slight lowering in your EGT's.

the stock 4 inch exhaust is more than enough to handle up too about 600hp when it comes to flow.

if your looking to improve the flow ditch the stock muffler and look into, although a little bit illegal in some areas, ditching the cat that will lower your egt's.

+1

What he said. 5" will give you a little more flow (no real performance gain), an altered tone (possibly), and bragging rights if you can find someone who doesn't know any better.

Agree with ditching the exhaust can though - you can do better.

unfortunately, starting in 04.5 the Cummins diesel came with a CAT. [:@]

depending on your state and local and federal codes the cat can be ditched. most areas do not emissions test diesels.
