Snow,

If you want to PM me the VIN I can check for any recalls or warranty restrictions info and send you a build sheet.

I assume what you are looking at is a 6.7 diesel. Before you do anything else, run and look at a hemi. buying a cummins made after 2004 is an accident waiting to happen at your expense!

Default Hemi or Cummins

I think much depends too on what you tow. If you don't tow much weight very often I would buy a gas truck. I know that if you regularly pull 5k+ the diesel makes the most sense IMO.

I love my diesel, but if your going to be using it as mostly a daily driver, I would suggest the Hemi. It looks like the fuel mileage will probably be about the same. With all of the emission controls on the newer diesels, they seem to be a bit more problematic when used just as a daily driver. Also, thanks to the epa, you won't get anywhere near the fuel mileage with the 6.7 as you did with your 5.9. You should expect no more than 12-13 city and 15-17 highway. If your one of the lucky few you could see as high as 18 highway. Those are empty #'s by the way, towing you would run in the 10-13 mpg range.

If you go with the 2500 hemi, you'll get the new 6 spd auto that a lot of people seem to like. I just traded off an '08 2500 and I really liked the power it had, just really wanted back in a diesel. If something happened to my current truck, I'd probably at least take a look at the 2500 hemi before I bought another diesel.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love my diesel. It's way more truck than I need but it's what I wanted. I just see a LOT of new diesel owners expecting 20+ mpg and being mad when they are only getting 15 or 16.

Jeff.
