Default Diesel quitting

2003 Ram 2500 Diesel. Engine just quits; at idle, low speed in traffic, and at interstate speeds. Dodge dealer changed fuel filter - no better, but becoming much more frequent. leaving me flying down the road w/o brakes or power steering. Quit three times today during my 30 mile commute almost causing two serious accidents. I'm now afraid to drive it.
