Have an 07 6.7... Got the check gauges light today and edge is saying its a generator low voltage sence. Truck runs fine, starts fine, volt gauge in normal spot. Truck has original batteries.. Any ideas what it could be, where to start.

Think I would start at testing the batteries.. Make sure that they test them separately as some of these kids in the parts places don't seem to get the concept that our trucks have the dual system and the cranking amps reflect on the system as a whole.. Had to tell them that a battery had to be disconnected to test one time and he tried to argue with me.. Both batteries: tested good, separately: tested bad. I am not sure if that is the engine code cause but it cant hurt to be sure, especially with the age. they can check the charging system while they are at it also to be sure that it is really at the voltage that it is telling you on the gauge. You can go local and they will check all of that for free for you
