Default 12v crank pulley orientation

does it matter what way the crank pulley bolts on? took mine off without marking it, wondering if the sensor wants to see the window in the balancer at a certain spot for tdc ref, or if it just needs to see the speed at which it passes by.

Nope, doesn't matter at all. I purposefully put mine back on 90 degrees off just to test it. As far as I can tell the only thing the sensor is there for is the tach, and someone mentioned also for cruise control.

I should have followed up on this, I put out on both ways and out worked either way. That sensor has lots of duties. Alternator, tack, trans, cruise...it does quite a bit. But it is not a tdc ref, it is only a speed ref, so the only thing that matters is the sensors air gap.
