Looking to buy a 2003 2500 auto Cummins
If I understand correctly the HO Cummins was not offered with an auto trans until late in the year. My question is how do I know if the engine is HO version? Is there any where to decode a VIN?

anyway, the best way to look and see what engine you have is to look on the data sticker on the drivers side valve cover on the engine. more chances than none it might say 305hp @ 2900rpm. that will be the HO engine. the standard output will read 285hp for 2003 I think.
