Default Propane Injection

I am considering getting propane injection to try to ofset the cost of fuel. I was wondering what people thought of them that had them and if they actually help your mpg or if they are more hassle then they are worth.

it's more of a hassle than anything and will only help when your realy pushing the engine since the propane isnt being supplied untill the manifold pressure hist 25PSI

so at low RPM or low boost it wont help at all, but if your wanting to go fast or tow heavy it is definately something to look into

With the five levels(edge juice) it already goes faster than I can shift. I am just looking for better fuel economy, not a power, but more power is always good. I get around 17 with 26,000 just like to get better mpg.

as I said before, the propane wint be injected into the intake untill the manifold pressure hits a certian point. so it is pretty much useless.

what year truck do you have? if you have a '600' check out my thread on the adjustable crank sensor. another thing I have been tinkering with has been a mix of Power Service and Marvels Mystery oil. 16oz of PS and 8 oz of MMO has given me nearly a 2mpg gain over not running any addatives. plus it does give you a little more power

if you leave that edge box on the lower settings it should give you better mileage since it slightly increases the rail pressure, and advances the timeing a bit. the both of these combined will give you slightly better mileage. I currently dont have a box on my truck, but I have been looking very hard at them. but I know as soon as I do set one on my fuel system will need to be upgraded, then I'll be shifting faster than I ever have. NV5600 and 4.10's I'm already rowing through the gears like a crack addict with a tooth brush on tub grout
