i am looking at a 1994 dodge 2500 dodge cummins the previous owner has left everything stock and the next owner that has bought it put, afe tuning, open air intake, afe intake neck, banks big head waste gate and the dual 6" stacks with 267,000 miles on it and it has just got the tranny rebuilt and then the guy said it jumped timing... it also has rot on the rockers and bottom of the doors witch dodges are known for that... but im a gas guy i have a 93 dodge w150 with a 318... my friend has a 01 dodge 24v cummins that has jus blew the injector pump and it looks like a lot of work to replace the timing but for 3,500 dollars i think its a good deal and i also know that 267,000 is nothing for a diesel and like the owner said he just had the tranny rebuilt so thats a plus.. but how does how does it jump a gear on gear i do not think it is possible or is it? he said he hasnt messed with the timing but i think he has tried to advance the timing and i will be doing all the work myself with my dad... bassically is it possible? and how does it happen
thanks,
