Default 06 has no power above 1800rpm

Hello, I'm new here and need help.

My 06 cummins will not make any power above 1800rpm. It does make black smoke at power loss. The filters have been changed and still no power.

Over the weekend when I was driving in NY I stopped at a rest area. All was fine when I turned off the engine. After restart it had no power above 1800 so I change the filters. I seemed fixed for the next 40 miles until I stopped again. So I changed the filters again. This time it still lacked power. Had it towed back home.

Help?

Steve,

The only bulletin I could find about your issue suggested checking for a restriction in the air flow/intake system.

How many miles are on your rig?

Does everything sound 'normal', turbo wise?

Do you have guages? Fuel rail preasure?

How is your fuel? How long before the trouble started did you fill up?

I would say look for a fuel delivery issue. Cant keep up with the fuel demand. Check your lift pump.
