it could like he said have a cracked housing...that wont cause smoke or play...it will just cause loud noise...old mans 04 cracked its manifold and turbo...had to replace both because of the huge split open area on the turbine housing letting smoke out under the hood..other than the cracked housing there was nothing wrong with the turbo....still functioned perfectly.

he351VE is definitely the way to go for a good upgrade over stock...

thanks guys this weekend im going to check the turbo. if i find out the turbo and the housing is still good where should i go from there? me and my dad have looked around at all the plumbing to and from the turbo and cant find anything but of course we werent tearing the truck apart when we looked either. the only thing we could find that we didnt think had anything to do with the sound of air was like a thin spot in the rub tube off the air intake. we dont thats it because it sounds like pushing air not sucking air. so what else do you guys thinking i should check?

hey guys did some looking at the truck this weekend and the turbo is fine i found out that it is one of the boots on the intake tubing that is bad it is coming apart. i have on on order just waiting for it to come in thanks for all your guys help
