Default CTD parked for extended periods of time

I bought a "beater" to drive to work and to save my 1999 CTD 4x4 for as long as possible. I have used a mix of Diesel Power fuel conditioner with Marvel Mystery Oil with each fill up for years. I have only been driving my CTD to work and back (45 miles) about once or twice a month cause I know the hazards of leaving vehicles stagnant for too long. I just realized the other day that I have driven her only 4500 miles in 2 years. My question is, is this enough driving for a garage kept truck that has been babied since new and has 152,000 on her and will my steady use of this fuel mixture ward off algae build up in the fuel system? Anything else I need to watch or do here?

As long as your getting the truck up to temps the few times a month your driving it, it should be good. Make sure your filling up with quality diesel when you do fill up, less chance of water and sediment and stay away from bio-diesel mixtures as those have the ability to attract water and grow algea if left sitting. I would also change the oil at-least once a year just to be safe.

Great, thanks. I feel they don't make 'em like they used to with all the new emission equipment and DEF tanks on some others, so I'm gonna nurse her along as long as possible.
