Default Fuel injector cleaning

Hi all

Any one recommend a fuel injector cleaner? Or does dodge/cummins recommend not using a cleaner?

Thanks

16 ounces of Power Service "Diesel Kleen" to a full tank of gas is my preffered method

I had not run much fuel additive through the truck since the winter... it was starting to smoke more and more at startup and under heavy throttle. I ran a bottle of Gunk diesel treatment through and it cleared it all up nicely. I know some/a lot of guys run cleaner through frequently, but I haven't found the need to, at this point.

Question - Does running frequent/periodic cleaner through injectors increase the life of injectors? I'd rather not have to replace $3k worth of injectors before I have to.

Depends on the product. Diesel Kleen helps lubricate the injectors, which will increase the life. Marvel Mystery Oil will also help lubricate the injectors.

My 1996 2500 2wd cummins has 356,000 miles. I have always used Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel and crankcase. I just follow the instructions on bottle. Before oil change I add one quart to oil and run for 10 or 12 miles then oil change. I have not had any engine problems yet.

A gimmick that nets me an extra 2 mpg. With $4 a gallon diesel that more than pays for itself
