I wouldnt waste your money on a EZ get a comp and just dont tap the pump till you get tranny work. That way your not wasting money once you upgrade to something better. Having a vp44 truck I would get a fuel psi gauge asap!! Too much to risk not having one even more so on a stock lift pump

yeah i plan on getting a gauge, ill prolly go with a comp box now. Is it hard to swap an 01-02 into a 98-00, cuz there are a lot more of them for cheap? And how much of a difference does it make by not wire tapping?

Not a big deal at all to get and install one. Depends what kind you get.
Comes with pretty detailed instructions. Takes an hour or so to install a Raptor.

Anyone know If I can stack my Flashpaq with this EZ chip or do I have to revert back to stock ECM program?

65hp like every other non wire-tap box...wiretap doubles that.

if you are talking install: its easy as pie.

if you are talking importance: um your injection pump WILL fail causing your truck to not run at all and you will be out over $1,000 to replace the injection pump, only to be damaging the new one again with low fuel pressure...

think of your lift pump as both a water pump and oil pump...lose water pump, what happens? overheat and cause damage right?

what about if the oil pump goes? no lubrication and cause damage....

fuel is both the coolant and lubrication for the injection pump...without the proper supply of fuel, the vp44 is just an engine running with no coolant or oil...

factory lift pumps often can't meet factory fuel demand and fall below bosch specs for fuel pressure (10-20psi) so when you increase fuel demand via electronics or injectors, you really put that injection pump at risk unless you upgrade the lift pump to a pump that can maintain fuel pressures within spec even with increased fuel demand.

why bother? they are both doing the same thing...

normal stacks involve a wiretap fueling box (like a TST Comp) with either a box like an ez or a programmer like a smarty.. programmer gives timing and canbus fueling, wiretap box pushes the pump...that way they work together rather than fight each other...

Update: I bought an edge comp, and what would happen if I wore tapped by didn't run the settings high? And I get confused between the lift and injection pumps. Can someone post a link of the one I should buy, I really don't wanna spend any more money. Do I need something more powerful than the vp44 to fuel or should that be sufficient at the moment? Sorry for all the questions I just want it to be solid

vp44 is your injection pump

think of it like a distributor...it works similar to a distributor...

with a distributor spark is fed into it and it must direct it to the right cylinder at the right time to cause an explosion

vp44 works in much the same way...but instead of spark, its pushing fuel in...soon as fuel gets pushed into the cylinder...instant explosion.

your lift pump is what supplies your injection pump with fuel...it is either an inline pump on the side of the engine, or an in-tank pump.. either way it pulls fuel from the tank, and pushes it into the injection pump to be pressurized and distributed to the cylinders of the engine.

a good lift pump would be something like a raptor fuel pump or an airdog100 airdog150, or fass95, or fass150.

cheapest would be the raptor pump.

as for the wire tap...don't tap the injection pump wire until you get that lift pump upgraded...it will eliminate temptation.

that's easy turn the key on, and bump the starter, but do not start it. go outside and listen for the hum of the pump...it will either be coming from drivers side of the engine block, or the fuel tank... after you bump the starter and leave the key on, you have 15 seconds before that pump shuts off.
