I prefer to run a quart of 2 stroke oil per tank, just for lubrication purposes. ATF and MMO are not designed to burn, so they leave ash which can damage cylinder walls/pistons/valves etc. TCM-3 rated 2 stroke oil burns clean and you can hear the engine noise change, less injector and pump noise.

fillup comparison in my truck...

no 2-stroke vs 2-stroke

diesel only did 13.5mpg (uncorrected for oversized tires)
diesel + 1qt 2-stroke did 14.1mpg (uncorrected for oversized tires)
engine definitely runs quieter with the 2-stroke oil too.

O.K., what am I missing here? I cranked the numbers and the math just doesn't add up. A gallon of automatic transmission fluid is around $65.00. A gallon of diesel is around $4.00 in my area. If the point is to increase your fuel mileage, you'll never make up the cost. Is it to help the longevity of the engine?

don't run ATF in your fuel, it will do nothing but plug up the injectors, valves, and turbine with ash content.

and what you're missing is said guy that was running ATF was getting it for free...likely using used ATF from work, or stealing it.

either way ATF is not designed to burn and will not burn clean. 2-stroke oil is cheap, its ashless, and its designed to burn and act as a primary engine lubricant in fuel, so it definitely does a good job.

If it clogs injectors, valves, and turbos with ash, it must take millions of miles. The guy I know has been doing it for years and tens of thousands of miles without issue, and he's definitely running much higher concentration of ATF than most people would due to getting used atf free.

Im not going to run ATF in my gruck. But if 2-Stroke oil is cool then I might run a little of that. What is your outlook on running 2- Stroke oil in a 6.7 gas mixture? If your cool with it how much should I run in a 40 gallon tank? Thanks for your kmowledge

mix ratio to meet manufacture recommendations for highest pump longevity is 128:1 or about a quart per 32 gallons.

here are tests done of different additives and how they perform as a lubricant.
