I'm running used motor oil (wmo)....at 60% in summer and 20% in winter...

I can fill up my tank for less the $40 in the summer!! Filtering the waste motor oil is key! been averaging 19 in the city and 22.6 highway with 4.10's

 

Watch out, you'll clog your injectors/turbo/everything with ash!

yeah roughly a quart per 32 gallons.

128:1 ratio. you can get measuring cups with mix ratios on them.

just make sure its TCW-3 ashless 2-cycle oil (like wally world supertech)

and do NOT run it in a 2007 or newer truck that still has emissions controls intact...

 

You guys that do run 2 stroke oil in your fuel. You run that walmart 2 stroke outboard oil right? On a full fill up of the tank, how much of that oil do you put in? My buddies have done it but I never have but they are all nuts and if they blow something they got cash to fix it...getting colder here in MD know so I don't want to thicken up the fuel too much, what is a good mixture to use?

yes.

if it gets extra cold where you are, you can switch to snowmobile ashless 2-cycle oil. same ratio. 128:1 snowmobile oil is made for very cold temps...though I've ran mine at 10 degrees outside and not had a problem with the wally world stuff, but its rare to get that cold here...usually stays in the 40s-50s all winter and just stays wet. rarely snows here.

 

dumb question but still learnin....have 09 4x4 2500 mega cab 6.7.....hv 5" exhaust w/ DPF/EGR delete. Don't hv to put that new mixture in it either lucky I guess. Is it alright to run the 2-cycle oil in my girl? If not what else do I need to get rid of? they say its not good for the 07 and newer trucks that were made to run on ULSD...

however you can run opti-lube in your fuel to help lubricity. it will not hurt ULSD trucks.

I think with the DPF and EGR deletes it would be fine to run 2-cycle because I think that is what they are worried about when they tell you not to run it in 07+ trucks... probably would plug up the dpf since it tends to add more smoke to the exhaust.

 

i have run with nothin but waste oils in my 12v for years.... engine, hydraulic, atf, mostly about 50% waste oil to #2 and once even went to 90% with no problems just started to smell a little from the exhaust, any way... after about 50k miles of this, i pulled the head to install a built o-ring head and there was absolutly nothing different in my engine compared to others i have pulled apart running straight#2, no build up in the injectors, head or exhaust/turbo systems, i noticed increased mpg's and lower egt's with the oils, the one thing i dont recomend is burning synthitic oils, no difference in performance compared to dyno oil but it stinks like hell! i cant stand the smell
