Default Cummins revving problem

Hey guys new here. Just got a 2007 5.9L quad cab 4x4. I'm having an issue with revving in park. The truck idles normal but when I hit the gas and bring the rpms up it doesn't hang for a sec and then come back smooth like its suppose to. It comes down rough, surging or in other words choppy all the way down to idle speed again. Other then that the truck is great. No running problems at all. And the truck is factory stock. PLEASE HELP.

USMCGRUNT,

Congratulations on you recent purchase. When the vehicle is back in idle do you notice any differences or if you increase the rpms again does anything change?

You may want to inquire with a Dodge dealer, they can do a thorough inspection for you and advise what is causing your concerns. If you need help locating a dealer or have any other inquiries feel free to PM me.

Have you changed the fuel filter? Is it throwing any codes? could be a bad injector, injector pump, etc...could be many different things! you need to have it scanned for codes..lots cheaper than just replacing parts...

Late on reposting. Busy at work... No the truck idles just fines. No bumps or raise or lowering in idle speed. And yes the fuel filter is changed.I just changes it yesterday. The old filter didn't look bad at all. But still the same problem. I will take it to a dealer I have been talking to just wanted to know if anyone else ever had an issue like this before.
