Default 2002 ram 2500 Diesel

Hello When I first start my truck 2002 Ram Diesel the amp guage drops off and after about a minute it comes up to normal I notice it seems to drop and come up when the A/C clutch turns on and off. After it comes up to normal range and stays there it stays in the normal range until I have to start it again. Noticed that it seems to take longer to get to the normal range than before. Could it be batteries or a alternator issue?

if its below 60* where you are, then it is your grid heaters cycling. nothing to worry about as it is perfectly normal.

grid heaters will cycle during and after initial startup when the IAT is reading < 60* F

it will stop cycling either after either 3 minutes of idling/slow driving or when vehicle speed reaches 20mph+
