Default Intermittent Windows

My passengers window switches work half of the time and the other they do nothing. The drivers switch still works on all windows, all the time. Twice I have pulled off passenger door panels (drivers rear and passengers rear) to check their connections which were fine. after putting everything back together the windows worked. I have no idea if one of my switches is bad causing all of them not to work or if there is something wrong with the wiring.

Anyone ever had this issue?

Where should I start looking for electrical issues?

likely corrosion on the switch connections.

try using some naval jelly on the contacts.

let it sit on them for an hour or so, then clean it off and hook the switch back up.

naval jelly is a great corrosion remover. if corrosion is the problem then it should fix it in a matter of hours...

You may want to check the switch on the drivers door that keeps the rugrats from palying with the windows. It could be sticking.

I will try this tomorrow. I know that the two rear switches showed no signs of corrosion. The previous owner had a trailer brake set up in the truck do you think that could cause this issue?

I thought so to but I dont use the kid switch. Once I got the windows working never touched it.

The lock is what went bad on mine. Same symptoms as yours. There is a thread on here for a fix. Or you may need to replace the master control panel.

Thanks to p38251 I was able to find a thread for my problem and after a few quick solder spots the windows work with their own switches. Seems a few trucks have ran into this. Thanks p38251.

you replaced it because it did it again or because something else went bad?
