i just bought an 01 dually welding rig and it drove awesome till this morning going down the road went to shift into 3rd (5 speed manual) and i felt like it got kicked in the nuts. i couldnt hear my turbo and i had no boost. what r some simple problems that would make my turbo stop working. had an edge programmer on it till the guy i bought it from had a new fuel pump put on and in order to save the warranty had the mechanic leave it disconnected.

 

do you have gauges?

if not, get them.

you need fuel pressure (0-30psi mechanical), EGT, and Boost (0-40psi or 0-60psi should do)

gauges will tell the story better...

sounds like its not getting fuel though. any engine codes?


fuel makes boost. no fuel, no boost. simple as that unless a bearing went or something got jammed in it, but either of those would be VERY noisy and obvious.
