I have just bought a 2005, 3500 SLT four door, 4x4 with the 5.9 diesel, and I bought a 2004, 2500 four door, 4x4 with the 5.9 diesel, and I want buy a programmer for power and fuel mileage,do they make a programmer that will program both trucks,or will I have to buy two programmers, and which programmer is the best for mileage? I sure some one out there has been through this before and knows of a good programmer to do both trucks, thanks everyone.

Welcome to DF.

You will have to buy two programmers. Each programmer remembers the VIN of the truck it is linked to, which "locks" it to that truck only. The reason they do this is so you can't go out and program ten of your buddies' trucks for free.

buy two smarty programmers.

If you had an 06-07 5.9 for both trucks I would tell you to get EFI-Live flash scan V2 which covers tuning two trucks on 1 tuner (or more if you purchase additional licenses)

but for your truck years they don't make EFI-Live yet, so smarty is the best tuner out for yours. Get the smarty S06 or smarty SSR.

Gives you tons of power or can tune for mileage...

If you can resist flooring it all the time you can get better mileage while performance tuned as well.
