Default Dual Mass flywheel help

2006 Dodge ram 2500 5.9 6speed manual

I think my dual mass flywheel is bad. Has anyone converted to a solid single mass?

What are the pros and cons off each?
Which is a good brand to buy?
Will the original factory clutch work with a solid single mass flywheel?

You can keep it, but I don't think you'll be able to use it. Call South Bend and ask.

from everything that I have read and heard - get rid of it. The big names such as centerflex, and southbend are expensive. phoenix friction products sells a complete kit for considerable less (find them on the web) you can go with a stock upgrade or choose one of several different pressures. Kits come with fly wheel pressure plate clutch throw out bearing pilot bearing master and slave cylinder and I think the yoke is also included. Haven't done mine yet but its on the books to be done.

Southbend or Valair are all I would run, nothing else. Stock dual mass sucks.

Phoenix 480 HP organic kit! Works terrific. You will have to endure gear roll-over noise. Consider replacing the ATF4 tranny fluid with the Mercedes spec Mobil Delvac synthetic 50 weight oil.

Call South Bend, they'll build a custom setup based on what you intend to do with your truck------I've had one in my gas engine for well over 100K miles and no problems yet
