Default obd codes pertaining to fuel problems

My truck is popping 2 codes when it wont start or stalls. P1689 and p1693.
Can anyone shed light on the problem I am having.

1689 is one of the death codes for the vp44... (associated with vp44 electronics failure)

but it could also be caused by a bad ecu, or a bad fuel system relay, bad drivers side ground, etc...

I would check the ground and the relay first.

1693 means there is another code in the PCM that you will need a code reader to retrieve.
